Chaldean Soccer Club participated in the 2nd annual Chaldean Festival along with 11 other teams that participated in the tournament in which of them were from Detroit. The tournament started with strong and the excitement continued to ivovle as the games started to heat up in the round of elimination on Sunday.

The tournament started with on Saturday morning at 8a pacific time in which 4 groups were assembled and in each group there were 3 teams. The Chaldean Soccer Club was associated with group C which included Chaldean Detroit B and San Diego Stars.

Chaldean Detroit B team was the first team that Chaldean SC faced. In the beginning of the game, Chaldean Detroit B started strong by scoring first in the first 4 minutes of the first half. Then Chaldean SC started to get into rhythem and started to penetrate thru the defense of Chaldean Detroit B and started to put the ball in the back of the net which excited the crowd and at the end of the match, the final score was 9 to 2 victorious over Chaldean Detroit B team.

The next match was against San Diego Stars team at 4p and the match was exciting as well but due to the let downs at the defensive mistakes, we lost the game with the score 10 to 7. The game was lost due to giving to many fouls which resulted in penalty shots to the opponents which they took advance of it. Despite our loss, we still advanced to the next round of 8 as Chaldean Detroit B team lost both of it's match one agains Chaldean SC and the other against San Diego Stars.

Sunday, one game elimination began and our game started against Chaldean Detroit A; the team which ultimately won the entire tournament. Again the team started rusty in an extremely hot day. Thru the first 10 minutes of the match the game was scoreless and with the players getting tired, the defense started to break down which allowed the talented Chaldean Detroit A players to break the scoreless tie by scoring 4 consecutive goals. The half ended with 4 goals to nothing.

Then came the 2nd half, the team started extremely poised and eager and got into the game by scoring the first goal with sniper shot off the foot of Anderias Hanna off a direct foul. With the goal scored, the momentum swung toward Chaldean SC and 3 minutes later scored the 2nd goal and with 9 minutes left to go to the game. Then Chaldean SC committed couple of fouls which resulted in a penalty shot. The penalty shot was saved the new young stud of a goal keeper Essa Solaqa whom is only 16 years of age which also has a bright future for our team.

With the save by Essa, it ignited the players and continued to push hard managed to get the second penalty shot for the team by Salar Somo (which he missed the first penalty shot) who took advance by ripping the upper right corner of the goal with his golden left foot. Now with 4 minutes left to the game, the players got more excited as the fan gave them a boost with their cheers and they responded with a tying goal again by Salar Somo. With the tying goal, the bench and the crowd erupted with excitement.

With 1:31 left in the game, Chaldean SC took a team timeout to give a breather to the players. As the clock winded down, Anderias Hanna received a crucial blue card which resulted in giving a goal to the opposition and then 30 seconds later, they scored another goals as the game ended with the score 6 to 4. With the loss, the team was eliminated from the tournament but the team did show extreme poise in coming back from behind against and extremely talented Detroit team.

This weekend was filled with excitement from all the teams that participated and the Chaldean Soccer Club is looking forward for the upcoming Chaldean tournament which will be in April 2012.
