Chaldean SC advances to semi finals in the Columbus Cup 2008 after winning their group. The team played 3 games on the day in which it won 2 games and lost 1. The first game was played against EPZ Masters which we won 3-0 in which goals were scored by captain Zacki Barkho and the 2^nd goal was scored by mid-fielder Salam Baho. In the 2^nd game of the day, we played SBFC Rangers who were looking for a revenge game after defeating them last week 2-0 defeated us 1-0.

The first half ended scoreless but SBFC Rangers managed to score the only goal of the game in the 2^nd half off of a corner kick that was deflected by our defender Yezen Haddad that hit their player and went it. On the 3^rd game of the day against CFC, we were determined to win as our team took matters into their own hands by scoring early 3 goals in the 1^st half. Despite many missed opportunities by our forward Sarmad Sabri as his shot hit the left post in the 5^th minute. The team continued it's pressure from both sides left and right and the 1^st goal was scored in the 10^th minute by Sarmad Sabri. Then 5 minutes later, the 2^nd goal was scored by left wing Rony Patros assisted by midfielder Salam Baho. The 3^rd goal was scored in the 20^th minute by midfielder Zacki Barkho with a diving header giving us the 3-0 advantage. In the 2^nd half, the opposition, managed to score on a penalty kick on a defense mistake by Wisam Hermiz. The game ended with 3-1 as the Chaldean SC advanced to quarter finals.
